WSOP Updates

Postby slaz13 » Wed Jul 13, 2005 2:20 pm

Hi, I'm at work and can't keep up on what's going on... (Damn firewalls)...anyway if anybody is keeping track, can you post and update here every now and then, so I can semi-keep with it...

Or if anyone has found a site that shows the updates, and they can access it from work, that would be helpful too.

thanks,

Brett

Its down to 41 people now. Losers at this point get $235,000

Oskar Silow (who plays as amexos on Prima) is still in. Ive played him many times in the $200NL-$1000NL games. He won his way in thru a satelite.

Raymer is out (Boo! Hiss!), Raymer raises PF with KK, call by Aaron Kanter with Qs Js, flop is 2,4 and 6 or some other filth, one spade. Raymer make small bet, Mr Whothehellisthisguy calls. Turn is 8s. Kantor bets his 4-flush, Raymer raises, not sure if its all in, but ultimately it all gets in the middle before the river when Mr PersonwhoisnotcalledGreg makes a dirty as hell flush.

This loss had Fossilman down to 400K and an exit soon after when his two cards didn't beat an opponents two cards, after they had seen 5 card on the table (I can't remember the details and can't be bothered looking it up, okay?)

A shame to see the guy out, one of my favourite sterotypes is the John Candyesque jolly fat man. Plus he has been a class act for mainstream acceptance of poker in the past year, useful since he succeeded Varkoni's lack of personality and Moneymakers inability to utter a sentence more than five words long.

Oh, and talking of class acts, convicted drug dealer, opponent abuser and the worst possible poker envoy for the next year, Mr Mike "I've got balls this big!" Matusow is still chip leader with over 6 million, which will be par for the final table.

Here is a recap of the hand that knocked Raymer out

Hand 23 - Andrew Black has the button in seat 8, Alsancak raises, and Raymer calls from the big blind. The flop comes Kh-Kc-7c, Raymer moves all in, and Alsancak calls. Raymer shows Ac-9h, and Alsancak has pocket fives (5d-5c). Raymer needs to catch a nine, an ace, or running clubs to stay alive. The turn card is the Kd, and Raymer needs to catch a seven, a nine, a king, or an ace to stay alive. The river card is the 2s, and Greg Raymer is eliminated in 25th place, earning $304,680.

Also current chip leader count going into the dinenr break

1. Mike Matusow - $7,000,000
2. Steve Dannenmann - $6,000,000
3. Andrew Black - $5,500,000
