I would really love it if they would have recorded his hole cards for the whole tourney. That would be amazing to watch.

As far as Matusow goes. I don't think he's a bad guy per say. I don't know him or anything but I think he see's his buddies on TV and they all have some kind of nickname or a gimmick or schtick and I just think Mike is trying to be the bad boy of poker by being so mouthy and arragont. Kind of like that kid that thinks nobody likes him so he is just an asshole to everybody. He may just be an ass hole and I'm wrong but when I see him I get the feeling he is trying to act like the class clown because he thinks nobody likes him or he doesn't fit in, in other words he wants attention.

Anyways, Raymer had his own thread so I figured I would get one up for Phil Ivey.

I would love to see it come down to Raymer and Ivey. That would be great. I agree that Ivey is the best right now but I'm cheering for Raymer. Maybe it is just because he is a big fat guy like me.

I think Ivey would have won 2003 if his set of 7's and his set of 9's didn't both get busted. Ivey is awesome..apparently Raymer is too. Both seem like great guys. I would love to watch them duke it out heads up over the world championship.

Ice, you talk as if you know Mike or something. He had a troubled past, SO WHAT, so have many others and have battled back from it. He's the chipleader at the WSOP, does that make you jealous or something?

I had the chance to meet him while I was down there and he wasn't such a bad guy as the cameras make him out to be.

Yeah if you go to Barry Greenstein's webisite he has a listing of a bunch of different players and he has Ivey at the top of his list. I think he says that Ivey will become the best poker ever or something like that.

http://barrygreenstein.com/player.htm

Hell, I can't remember. I'll just throw up a link to his site. If you have not read the player reviews for everybody along with listening to the music Barry selected for them, you should. It is well worth your time.

suhleafs, all I think Ice was saying is that he prefers not to root for Matusow, thats all.

What is it about Phil Ivey that makes him so good? We all get dealt the same cards in the long run right? How is it that he is so successful in cash games as well as tourneys? Any ideas on this stuff guys? Is he just a poker prodigy and thats it or what? There is not alot of info out there on him and I think this kind of discussion would be interersing. I don't know what do you guys think?
