Lol... not a fan of the Cubs especially, when I started watching baseball a few years back I liked the WhiteSox at first, though seeing their neighbourhood in the windy city I think I'll stick with the Cards.
Being born several thousand miles away it's kinda hard for me to have a "home" team - I like the Cards in baseball (always liked them, Renteria is one of my favourite players, and visiting the Busch ballpark was fun too), Bruins in hockey (I'm gathering from your irish name and location you might be a fan too), oddly because I always used to play them as a kid when I played NHLPA hockey on the Sega, and the Rockets in the basketball (Clyde Drexler was my favourite player when I was mad on basketball, and like the Dream too back when he was playing centre, that was probably around the time of their 2nd title and the two years following). I'm afraid when it comes to gridiron I'm not too interested... Doesn't seem like a very good game and I've never really got into it, though I can watch highlights without too much bother (I'm pretty much a nut for all sports, so there's not much that doesn't involve horses that I CAN'T watch...), I guess at a push I'd probably go for the Packers cos I come from a small town too

...
A friend of mine always watches the baseball late at night here on channle 5, he's a mad Sox fan so you can imagine he enjoyed watching them whup the Cards last year. All the salary issues seem to be ruining baseball of late, and the massive gulf in quality between the best teams and the worst - you get that here too in football (soccer) but there's always interest for 75% of the supporters even until the end of the year, the teams in the top half are either fighting for the title or to get into European competition qualification, and the teams at the bottom all fighting to avoid ending up in one of the relegation spots. Perhaps a complete overhaul of the major league would help restore a bit more competition. Having a few less money-grabbing bastards in the game would be cool too! It's a fun sport, not entirely dissimilar to cricket, which I enjoy watching here.
