Yeah the last time I played that game I said, "If I ever get out of this trap I"m never eating cheese again.".

I haven't played it since... I would rather spend the money on lapdances.

Some background for ya... after card-counting was popularized by Edward Thorp's book "Beat The Dealer", various casinos employed counter-measures. One of them was... you guessed it... shuffling after every few hands dealt. The result? They lost a lot of business. People refused to play the game until it returned to its traditional rules. So casinos had to figure another way to make card-counting less useful. They decided to use multiple-decks. Now it's not uncommon to see 5-deck or 6-deck blackjack games in casinos, which effectively lower your advantage another few hundredths of a percent. Also, if you're winning too much and increasing your bets in a systematic fashion (i.e. raising it when the count becomes high), you can be asked to leave, or the dealer will shuffle the deck more often.

I've heard there are a few casinos which have added Continuous Shuffling Machines to their blackjack games, but I've yet to stumble across one. I will NEVER play at one of those tables.
