I'd insta-call. I'd take him for a moron wetting his pants looking down on AKs. I have yet to lay down cowboys preflop. :)

Not ten minutes after posting my reply did I catch KK in the BB with UTG moving in for less than a full stack and some 1/3 stack in between caller. Of course UTG had AA, and I got no help. I don't feel bad about that call even though i kind of smelled them, but stuck to my no man, woman or muppet motto. $80 call $200 pot in the end, might should have stuck with my read... or with the theme that if i'm not pushing with kings i'm folding them, at least until they thaw out for me.

I've seen LOADS of people push preflop with AK against limpers, or just open with an all-in. Way too many for me to fold KK here. Today, first hand I was dealt was AA, UTG went all-in with A8o... people are muppets. QQ I fold, KK... not unless I have a great read.

Notice how I said "barring a read."

I actually had a read on this guy...he moved-in all the time. Actually started with $50 and got all the way up to $300 making this all-in play with a variety of hands.

I actually limped hoping he would make this move.

He held AA and I got no help. Bye bye $300.

I knew I made the correct play....I'm not even sure why I posted it really. I guess just to bitch. I don't bitch often enough.

Well *obviously* he's going to have AA *this* time, otherwise you wouldn't be here bitching about it

I came to think of this thread just now. Look what happened to me a couple of hours ago. I had been running bad the entire day, so I decided to buy in for $25.

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, 50$ (10 handed)

Hero ($24.50)
UTG ($49.50)
UTG+1 ($22.62)
UTG+2 ($32.15)
MP1 ($48)
MP2 ($54.65)
MP3 ($183.80)
CO ($41.25)
Button ($55.40)
SB ($83.85)

Preflop: Hero is BB with [Kd], [Kh]. SB posts a blind of $0.25.
5 folds, MP3 calls $0.50, CO raises to $1, 2 folds, Hero raises to $2.5, MP3 folds, CO raises to $5, Hero is all-in ($21.50), CO calls $19.50.

Flop: ($28.25) [8s], [Ac], [8d] (2 players)

Turn: ($28.25) [Js] (2 players)

River: ($28.25) [Ad] (2 players)

Final Pot: $28.25

Results in white below:
Hero has Kd Kh (two pair, aces and kings).
CO has Kc Ah (full house, aces full of eights).
Outcome: CO wins $28.25.

Awesome! So far I've seen people call my preflop pushes with 99, Q9s, AJs and now AK. Maybe I should start pushing QQ and JJ too. It should be +EV on Party. ;)

Wow... so the times you limp with a hand big enough to call him (AA or KK) he wins a big pot or splits one, and all other times he wins what... 2.5BB? How horrible is the giant push preflop with AA here! Even with his "push everything" mantra I still don't know why someone would play aces in such a way.
