Yeah, it's good to see poker back on the terrestrial channels, even though it is the rectum that is ITV. If the people that watch Bad Girls and Footballers Wives see this and start playing poker then that is definitely good for the game, especially as they'll only have the celebrities to go off in terms of play.

After watching the Poker Channel, it's apparent that poker on TV is totally dependent on the commentators, while Sexton and Van Patten and '10 wives' Chad have their failings you definitely need enthusiam from them. Which is why when UK poker doesn't have Jesse May on I think it's a mistake, Vicky Coren has a tendency to waffle and blather, May keeps a certain tension going.

Here's hoping for more poker on the TV, could be a cheap filler for BBc and Grandstand.

Coren is perfect for the light-hearted rubbish that's played on celebrity poker, she's just deprecating enough to give it a nice slant whilst not talking over the action too much.

In all honesty, do you really think a commentator trying to engender some serious tension whilst some guy who used to be in Byker Grove decides whether to call a raise with 97o against somebody who used to present Channel Four Racing is going to work  ? I reckon it'd just sound silly!

And why haven't they added some celebrities who know how to play poker? Ricky Gervais, Clive Sinclair, and maybe someone like Anthony Holden woulda been fun.

I am sorry, I watched one episode and decided that was it.

I guess so called celebs playing for charity money just doesn't do it for me. Also I have rules against watching any TV shows where either the title or description use the word celebrity. The fact the out of the five players normally only two have normally played previously is neither here nor there.

That thing too when they put in the music when someone has a tough decision, funny!

I tried to make an allowance as it was poker but it still sucked...
