LOL. Yes I am Nathan Hicks... Since I don't get many replies I reply to myself under my alias. J/K. He's my brother and replies from work.

I did not end up playing in the game today because my grandma went back into the hospital and I decided I better go and see her. I am just going to use my T$ for sngs and see how much I can make. I do plan on entering the sattelite again and playing in the tournament next week though.

My goals for tomorrow are to clear the Party bonus and use all of my T$ in the sngs. Hopefully I can make some cash.

Yesterday started off terribly. Within 300 hands I was down 50 or so dollars because only 20% of my continutation bets were working. That adds up fast when I'm getting AK and AQ every other hand and missing the flop while some fucker plays back at me.

It all turned around about 700 hands in. I got A[s] K[s] in the BB. You have got to love these people

UTG+2 ($9.75)
MP1 ($59.50)
MP2 ($21)
MP3 ($50.55)
CO ($18.55)
Button ($45.75)
Hero ($50.78)
BB ($63.65)
UTG ($49.90)
UTG+1 ($49.50)

Preflop: Hero is SB with [As], [Ks]. Hero posts a blind of $0.25.
UTG calls $0.50, UTG+1 calls $0.50, 3 folds, MP3 calls $0.50, 2 folds, Hero (poster) raises to $2.25, 1 fold, UTG folds, UTG+1 calls $2, MP3 folds.

Flop: ($6.50) [3s], [4s], [8s] (2 players)
Hero bets $3, UTG+1 calls $3.

Turn: ($12.50) [Qh] (2 players)
Hero checks, UTG+1 bets $10, Hero raises to $20, UTG+1 calls $10.

River: ($52.50) [Ad] (2 players)
Hero bets $25, UTG+1 calls $24 (All-In).

Final Pot: $101.50
My opponent had KK

Now I want to post some hands for comment to see how other would play them.

In this hand I think this guy is telling me he has the flush, but I would like to know if others would continue?

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (10 handed)

MP2 ($70.30)
MP3 ($59.50)
CO ($50.80)
Button ($134.35)
SB ($39.05)
BB ($42)
UTG ($70.85)
UTG+1 ($45.50)
Hero ($49.50)
MP1 ($65.75)

Preflop: Hero is UTG+2 with [7s], [7h]. SB posts a blind of $0.25.
UTG calls $0.50, 1 fold, Hero calls $0.50, MP1 calls $0.50, 1 fold, MP3 calls $0.50, CO calls $0.50, 1 fold, SB (poster) completes, BB checks.

Flop: ($3.50) [Kd], [7d], [3d] (7 players)
SB checks, BB checks, UTG bets $2, Hero calls $2, MP1 folds, MP3 folds, CO folds, SB folds, BB folds.

Turn: ($7.50) [Tc] (2 players)
UTG bets $5, Hero raises to $15, UTG calls $63.35 (All-In), Hero folds.

Final Pot: $90.85

The last one I will post. I got pushed off this hand by a guy with PFA over 6 and he showed me what he had. He also played about 25% of his hands. Looking back I think I should have pushed against someone this aggresive. What do you think?

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (10 handed)

BB ($54.65)
UTG ($44)
Hero ($55.15)
UTG+2 ($27.45)
MP1 ($0)
MP2 ($51.55)
MP3 ($144.40)
CO ($80.80)
Button ($55.54)
SB ($53.70)

Preflop: Hero is UTG+1 with [Kc], [Ks]. SB posts a blind of $0.25.
1 fold, Hero calls $0.50, UTG+2 calls $0.50, MP2 calls $0.50, 1 fold, CO calls $0.50, Button calls $0.50, 1 fold, BB checks.

Flop: ($3.25) [2d], [6h], [Th] (7 players)
BB checks, Hero bets $3.1, UTG+2 folds, MP2 raises to $10, CO folds, Button folds, BB folds, Hero folds.

Final Pot: $16.35

Results in white below:
MP1 doesn't show.
MP2 doesn't show.
Outcome: MP2 wins $12.90. MP1 wins $3.45.

I ended up down about ten bucks in ring games on the day but clearing the Party bonus made up for it

I plan on playing another four hours today and hopefully the cards will run hot. It seems like it has been years since I have had one of those incredible run of cards. Lets hope it's today.

I had another bad day yesterday but I only made one semi costly mistake. I was down 80 cents in two hours of play and called it a day. If I had won one pivitol hand I would have been in the black $70.

I think I am going to start posting hands that I make obvious mistakes in so I will stop doing it. First I am going to post the hand that cost me a bunch of money then I will post the QQ hand that I was tilted on.

My opponent was rated mini fish.

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (9 handed)

MP3 ($46)
CO ($35.80)
Button ($45)
SB ($53)
BB ($105.05)
UTG ($19.65)
UTG+1 ($55.55)
Hero ($49.75)
MP2 ($13.35)

Preflop: Hero is MP1 with [Ks], [Ac]. SB posts a blind of $0.25.
2 folds, Hero raises to $2, 2 folds, CO calls $2, 3 folds.

Flop: ($4.75) [3c], [Tc], [9c] (2 players)
Hero bets $4, CO raises to $8, Hero calls $4.

Turn: ($20.75) [Jc] (2 players)
Hero checks, CO calls $25.80 (All-In), Hero calls $25.80.

River: ($72.35) [9d] (2 players, 1 all-in)

Final Pot: $72.35

Results in white below:
Hero has Ks Ac (flush, ace high).
CO has Jh Jd (full house, jacks full of nines).
Outcome: CO wins $72.35.

Then about three hand later on another table I was against a maniac and lost a few bucks I should have kept. I still can't figure out why I called him. Any hand that I could possibly put him on had me beat.

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (10 handed)

BB ($46.50)
UTG ($10.95)
UTG+1 ($70.80)
UTG+2 ($18.65)
MP1 ($49.25)
MP2 ($64.15)
MP3 ($152.17)
CO ($50)
Hero ($52.80)
SB ($34.50)

Preflop: Hero is Button with [Qs], [Qc]. CO posts a blind of $0.50. SB posts a blind of $0.25.
3 folds, MP1 calls $0.50, 1 fold, MP3 calls $0.50, CO (poster) checks, Hero raises to $3, 2 folds, MP1 calls $2.50, MP3 folds, CO folds.

Flop: ($7.75) [Tc], [Td], [Kd] (2 players)
MP1 checks, Hero bets $6, MP1 calls $6.

Turn: ($19.75) [2h] (2 players)
MP1 checks, Hero checks.

River: ($19.75) [3c] (2 players)
MP1 bets $8, Hero calls $8.

Final Pot: $35.75

Results in white below:
MP1 has Kh 5h (two pair, kings and tens).
Hero has Qs Qc (two pair, queens and tens).
Outcome: MP1 wins $35.75.

To reiterate what I said earlier I hope by posting this I will stop making these bonehead calls even when I'm on tilt. So, because a bad beat and a stupid call I was even on the day.

Stealth,

Your play on Hand 1 was fine. You got all your money in as the huge favorite. Play it like that everytime and you win about 80% of the time and that win is for his entire stack. I like them odds.

On hand 2, I really don't see much wrong with it either. You btp like a good little btper should. You're called. You check the turn controlling pot size. Well done. Then you call a river bet that is not even 50% of the pot when all the draws missed. I'd play it that way too. You don't know if he's just bluffing the river with a missed draw. Somewhat read dependent but I wouldn't beat myself up on that one.

May I suggest if you want to see how to really play poorly that you check out my boneheaded play last night forum/viewtopic.php?t=5489

I was just posting the first hand because it drove me nuts that the guy made a move like that. I really thought he sensed weakness and had a lower flush than me. When the pot was sliding his way at the end of the hand I had to double check what he had, because I never thought in a million years he would make that move with a set on a four flush board.

Thanks for the feedback on the second hand. It makes me feel a little bit better about making the call even though I was pretty sure I was beat. The guy was laggy enough that it could have been a bluff, but I hate losing money even if it was only $8.

I'm about to start todays session. I can only get in about two hours becuse the girlfriend will be off of work soon, and like most women, she hates the fact that I play poker. It's kind of funny because I make more money playing poker than she does at her job. Fuck it, women are crazy.

I ended the day up $4. I was up 50 at one point then lost it when I got good preflop hands like five times in a row and all of my continuation bets got played back at. And one or two dumb plays.

That was not the reason I called it quits though. For some reason when I am playing on Party Poker and their skins I will get cards, but sometimes I will not have the options to check, bet or fold and I get timed out. I have emailed support a few times and they have no idea what to do. This has gotten to the point where it is happening 2 or 3 times a day. I have to shut down the poker server I am playing on and restart the games. This is very time consuming and it puts on a strange sort of tilt.

I was wondering if anyone here has had a problem like this, and if they have, if there is any way to fix it?

this has never happened to me. maybe your video card or RAM is overly burdened and is not updating the screen in time.

how many different programs are you running at one time while you play (be honest about streaming porn, kazaa, etc.)? are many running in the background (the tray in the bottom right of windows)

what kind of computer set up do you have?

what kind of internet connection do you have?

have you turned off all the animations (characters, cards and chips, and congratulations)? these can tax a system that running on 1600x1200 without a good video card.

anyway, all of these _could_ be a potential source of the problem.

Thanks for the response Kusso. This problem happens on both of my computers though and I have a high speed connection through comcast. I did go ahead and close down all of my running programs and i did not get timed out this morning. Hopefully that was the problem.

Now the good news. In just under an hour of play today I have had set over set twice. I was on the winning end of both hands and I stacked both opponents. Through good play I was up to about 130 on the day then I lost flopped trips in the BB to some assmuncher playing Q5 for a higher kicker flopped trips. I had 56.

Now for the hand I should have let go.

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (10 handed)

UTG ($49.53)
UTG+1 ($20.10)
UTG+2 ($67.20)
MP1 ($45.15)
Hero ($56.85)
MP3 ($41.15)
CO ($16.30)
Button ($66.75)
SB ($42.34)
BB ($47.05)

Preflop: Hero is MP2 with [Ah], [Qs]. SB posts a blind of $0.25.
1 fold, UTG+1 calls $0.50, 1 fold, MP1 calls $0.50, Hero raises to $2.5, MP3 calls $2.50, 4 folds, UTG+1 calls $2, MP1 folds.

Flop: ($8.75) [Kd], [6h], [9s] (3 players)
UTG+1 checks, Hero bets $7, MP3 calls $7, UTG+1 folds.

Turn: ($22.75) [7s] (2 players)
Hero checks, MP3 bets $4, Hero raises to $15, MP3 calls $11.

River: ($52.75) [5s] (2 players)
Hero checks, MP3 calls $16.65 (All-In), Hero folds.

Final Pot: $69.40

I should have let this hand go. The guy I was against was a complete moron. He probably had KQ or something like that. At this level I need to quit pouncing on those weak ass bets so much. Too many times I lose money I should have kept.
