I have posted exactly one sports betting suggestion on this board. That suggestion was to bet on Vanderbilt for all of their out of conference games in last year's NCAA mens' basketball season. If you followed that advice, you came out 4 betting units ahead after 11 games if I remember correctly. That should establish at least some credibility.
(1) Take Vanderbilt +11 @ WFU (college football)... game happens in 30 days or so... that spread will get tighter as the game approaches, and you can cover your bet by taking WFU -8 or -8.5 later on. Especially good if you want to clear a deposit bonus on a sportsbook site -- this is likely to be a risk free opportunity to get a 5% chance at a "double up"...
(2) NHL -- lots of good bets availible for season-long win totals. Take the under on Tampa Bay, Washington, Detroit, Toronto, Carolina, Philadelphia. Take the over on Colorado, Dallas, Atlanta, NY Rangers. Double-size the bets on Tampa and Atlanta. Tampa overperformed last season, Atlanta had several underperforming individuals (Stefan, Exelby, injured Savard, overplayed goalie Pasi Nurminen). Southeast division getting stronger in general, plus more divisional games, hurts Washington and Carolina. Other picks are based on recent and soon-to-come player movement, so they should only be taken if you get an opportunity today or tomorrow.
