Sports betting opportunity #2

I have posted exactly one sports betting suggestion on this board. That suggestion was to bet on Vanderbilt for all of their out of conference games in last year's NCAA mens' basketball season. If you followed that advice, you came out 4 betting units ahead after 11 games if I remember correctly. That should establish at least some credibility.

(1) Take Vanderbilt +11 @ WFU (college football)... game happens in 30 days or so... that spread will get tighter as the game approaches, and you can cover your bet by taking WFU -8 or -8.5 later on. Especially good if you want to clear a deposit bonus on a sportsbook site -- this is likely to be a risk free opportunity to get a 5% chance at a "double up"...

(2) NHL -- lots of good bets availible for season-long win totals. Take the under on Tampa Bay, Washington, Detroit, Toronto, Carolina, Philadelphia. Take the over on Colorado, Dallas, Atlanta, NY Rangers. Double-size the bets on Tampa and Atlanta. Tampa overperformed last season, Atlanta had several underperforming individuals (Stefan, Exelby, injured Savard, overplayed goalie Pasi Nurminen). Southeast division getting stronger in general, plus more divisional games, hurts Washington and Carolina. Other picks are based on recent and soon-to-come player movement, so they should only be taken if you get an opportunity today or tomorrow.

Nash,

I have not place a bet since college (except for the $50 Pats hit I took in the SB) but if I do jump back, I will definately take your advice....

In poker, You always have an idea of where you stand as far as your odds, but in sports, the edge if any is very small and can be offset by the juice.

I recently read an article where the writer suggested 2 team 6 point teasers with certain spreads regardless of teams and thought about trying that out as well.

Can you suggest a good sports bet site? (if allowed by site of course or perhaps PM me one?)

Just an update ---

The Wake / Vandy line has now closed to 9.5 as published in the USA Today. It should continue closing as the game approaches. I would cover my bet if/when it gets down to 8.5 or 8. I would not recommend betting either way at this point if you haven't done so already, because the line is not likely to move enough to make it worthwhile.
