Prahlad knows he shouldn't be in Ivey's kitchen. But the one I feel sorry for is the other lady. If she's not a big name player, I wonder if she knows who she's in with. I mean, everybody knows Ivey, but Prahlad Friedman scares the crap out of me too.

At least Spirit Rock is getting to play Ivey at his own stakes, rather than sticking a couple of hundred thousand just to start off with, who's up?

Well when I quit watching Ivey was up about $30k on on table over Spirit, and on the other table sprit had just won a $45k pot by hitting his nut flush on the river to take down Ive's 2 pair. Ivey was pissed and left. I still think Ivey ended the sessions up about $40k over Spirit.

well considering i'm the self declared "one of the best online texas holdem no limit players in the world"

I could take em :) Phil Ivey can't get a read on me when I'm playing on the computer in my birthday suit. Think poker, not porn. or maybe both??

One thing I know in this world is that Im not in Phil Iveys league. One more thing I know is that Im not in SRs league.....but Im telling you, I dont see anything special at all in these headsup matches Ive watched.

They might be the most boring thing Ive ever watched. There are just hardly any big pots. There are hardly any big bluffs. How do I know? Well, there havent been any big bluffs that got called and showdown that I saw.

It looks like too lightweight boxers just throwing jabs that arent really doing any damage, until eventually after 100 hands, finally a hand comes up where they both have something and they get to showdown.

Dunno what's the issue here.

First, are we expecting it to be as exciting as the final table of the WPT?

Think of the hours of play that are edited out. Watching people play poker has got to be as boring as sex with my ex-wife. ("Did I hurt you? I thought I felt you move.")

Second, why do we expect the pros to play differently? Do we think they have some secret that only they know? Sure, there are many roads that lead to Rome, but anyone who reaches these levels know every one of them.

Last, if they want to win, why wouldn't they play TA? Unless they are given money for promotional purposes with instructions to give it away like the Magic Money Man, they are better off playing the same way we play against maniacs. Wait until you have a hand, then break 'em.

I would hope that when you reach these exalted heights, you would know how to play Hold 'Em. You'd have an encyclopedic knowledge, you've have seen every play, and have very few leaks. And a very large bankroll and be comfortable playing it.

"At some point, money is just the way you keep score." H.L. Hunt--superrich Texas oilman of days gone by.
