you said before that they don't have children living at home. did the couple ever have children?
was it something about the food that caused their exit?

if neighbors are nearby, would you reasonably expect neighbors to react the same way, albeit in their own homes with their own separate meals, same as this couple? (ie, did emergency affect other people simultaneously?)

I am far from a bible expert but I always thougth they were 'man' and 'woman' not hubby and wife
