Well, I've decided to get back into SNGs following my recent pitiful performance in the BTP Tourney. (I don't know why I always play like chit in these.) I had $30 left in my PokerStars account, so I sat down at a $5 SNG for fun. Whaddya know? I won. I played another, and won. Then another, out fourth. Bad beat. And another, and won. Hmm, maybe I'm better at these than I thought. Damn you Party Poker and your pathetic 800 chips.
I gave most of my winnings back playing the 3 table SNGs. Not that I'm incapable, just for some reason couldn't find any remotely decent hands to play and got small stacked at the final table.
Forget the fact it's only a few tourns, and it's only for $5. The play here was far better than any I've seen at Party, although again extremely weak/tight. The 1500 chips start allows for a better player to play against the weak/tighties, because you have enough chips to play well post-flop, where the weak/tighties are most vulnerable.
So, I'm off again on my quest to play tournament poker. NL ring games simply are not working at all for me. I win a lot of little hands and lose every big hand it seems, so my BR is treading water. I'm just a much better tournament player, I think, esp when I get down to 4 or less. In the money, I outplay them, almost all the time.
So, I've got money and bonus left at Full Tilt, so that's my first crack.
Pacific has a 60% deposit bonus, lets you work off the bonus with SNGs, and I know they have some pretty bad players.
I've heard Bodog is also good for SNGs.
Where else?
This is my permanent home for the next three months, where I'll either make it or go back to fixed limits---UGH.
