Iceman,

Yup, Bill Clinton was impeached. For, um, lying about, um, sex with an intern.

Who impeached him? The House of Representatives. Controlled by ... Republicans.

George Bush has not been impeached for his lies about Iraq. Because the House of Representatives is controlled by ... Republicans.

If Al Gore had been president and had told the same lies, he would have been impeached too. If the Democrats controlled the House, they would have impeached Bush. What he has done is absolutely impeachable. Worse than Watergate, as John Dean put it.

I'll get into details of Bush's history of incompetence & corruption sometime later, when I have a block of free time to work on it. (I'm not sure if that's a promise or a threat. :D)

BTW, Iceman, I completely agree: neither party has done much to impress me in recent years/decades. I consider myself a Democrat mostly because, again, their principles and their sense of the most important things in this country's history make sense to me. But I do admire people like John McCain or Alan Simpson or Chuck Hagel or Lindsay Graham more than a lot of Democratic politicians. In retrospect, I have a lot of respect for the first George Bush (George W.'s daddy), too. George W. himself, not so much.

Well, that's probably the end of this thread and discussion. She said it all, right there. If that doesn't pretty much say it all for both sides, nothing I or anyone else could ever say would speak louder or clearer. Thanks, flop.

What a sad, sad world we've created. As the Irish would say, "Jesus wept."

The south is so patheic. I used to live in NY... i live in north carolina now and can't believe some of the ignorance.

For example, my roommate does not beleive in any part of evolution. he thinks the world is about 5,000 years old and that carbon dating must be flawed. He says there is no proof of evolution???

I also asked him if his wife was pregnant... if he had to choose between the baby and his wife, he would choose the baby who was not born yet. (assuming one of them had to die.) WTF?!?! very noble of you sir......

sorry if i offended anyone.
