anyway, i watched the 4th day with an english friend of mine. it was a bit scary to watch the bottom half of the aussie side get their asses handed to them. that pace bowler was completely on. the call on light, though, seemed a bit biitchy. well, the english are playing, so what else can be expected.

anyway, congrats... enjoy the two years while you can. it might be another 20 or so before you get to enjoy it again. just think, you'll be able to commiserate with your children then, and remind them of a time that a yank mocked the English side and warned of the impending drought.

The best thing is, the two best australian bowlers are going to be 36 and 37 by the time the series swings by in Australia.... could be a long tough series for them and there's not much behind them.... I'm hoping it might be another 18 years before the aussies win it back ... anyhow, we need to win in australia to become the world's undisputed no. 1 team so here's hoping...

Yeah, I can't believe Warne didn't get that man of the series award, without him the english victory would never have been in doubt, what was it, 40 wickets?

Molina, Wanre did get the man of the series award. One is awarded to each team by the coach of the opposition, and Fletcher gave ours to Warne, their coach Buchanan gave it to Flintoff. There was also a "Compton Award" inaugural thing for the player who had the biggest impact in the series - Flintoff I think quite rightly won that - 24 wickets or however many it was and 400 runs, only 2 players scored more runs and only one took more wickets, gotta be flintoff I think, he also put in two or three big (potential) match-winning performances with games in the balance, whilst warne's efforts nearly all came when Australia were struggling or just about dead. That 70-odd he put on with the last wicket at Old Trafford was awe inspiring, can't remember ever enjoying watching cricket so much, when he put, the fastest bowler in the world, on the scaffolding over the top of the main stand it was about my favourite moment of the summer!

I can't believe my luck sometimes. I left Mass in 2001, then the Pats go on a tear and start winning Super Bowls and Red Sox win it all. Like I had to leave for them to win.

I do live in Ft. Myers, where the Sox have spring training, but it's not the same. I envy you guys...(except in winter.)
