First off, should I be re-raising pre-flop?

Secondly, what do you think of me check/raising the flop? If he 3-bet, I'd call and re-evaluate on the turn (I'd need a 6, 8, 4, or club to consider calling the turn bet). I figured he probably raised with random 9+ cards like J9 or whatever and as long as he doesn't have a king, there's not much he can do here.

I'm fine with either calling or 3-betting preflop. Honestly, I 3-bet from the BB against an LP open-raise pretty rarely, probably something I should be doing more often. Post-flop a check-raise is definitely good. The king is a bit annoying, but I really believe that Ax junk constitutes a very large percentage of LP steal-range, so I think there's easily enough chance your hand is good here to throw in a check-raise.

Even when I defend my blind with utter crap and miss, I'll often play back at a Kxx or Qxx flop just because so many people are raising their Ax hands. Not saying I always will or that it always works, but I do think these are the best flops to attack if you feel like just makin a move.
