While I was sitting at my computer playing poker the other night, I was trying to get physically comfortable. It got me thinking about the online poker community, and what people do to find the right comfort zone when they play online.

Do you kick your feet back on your lay-z-boy with your laptop?
Are you at a desk in a big comfy chair?
Or are you sitting in a regular chair, like those in the B&M's?
Is there music on, or do you need complete silence?
When is your favorite time to play?
How do you choose which site to play on a particular day?
Why choose a certain game?

I only play at night after the kids are in bed. My chair is not that comfortable, but since I play at night, I don't want to be sitting in something that will rock me to sleep. I also like to wear my ipod. My computer is an old Compaq Presario that runs Win98 - but hey, it still works fine.

That being said, I was wondering how everyone gets "comfortable" when playing online.

Sat at the desk, chairs comfy, but I ALWAYS forget to listen to music, the stereo is right next to me, I have loads of MP3s on the hard drive. As long as I'm not red hot with fury at a string of beats I've taken I don't usually think too much about comfort.

Sometimes wear some massive, cheap sunglasses when I'm starting to get a headache from the staring at the monitor too long.

Usually watching something on the TV or surfing internet also.

Just spent a fair chunk of change on a near top of the range reclining leather adjustable office chair, extra comfy, to replace the nasty little stool i've sat on at th computer for the last 3 years. Figure i'm probably doing my back no good and i can afford to splash out on a bit of luxury given the amount of time i spend at the thing and the amount of £ i make. Got a new laptop too and i'm going to perhaps splash out on a wireless connection in my new house, so i can play in the bath with a big glass of beer. Ha!

I have a "pre-gaming" ritual.

1) Put up away message on AIM
2) Open up my mellow MP3 playlist
3) Fire up GT+ and PokerTracker. Auto-import hands every two minutes.
4) Start PartyPoker (or whatever)
5) Open up four tables with a decent avg pot size.
6) Quickly look for signs of poor players
7) I'm "all-in" on that action!

I have a laptop too, and while I also roam about, my favorite spot is actually the kitchen table.
