I can't even watch him play. I want to watch the WSOP but every time i hear him talk, even about the little things, i just was to bitch slap him. He's just an asshole and has no social skills. Fine, people make bad choices on the poker table and most of the time, you win a lot of money off them. Of course they are gonna hit their 2 or 3 outs on your once in a while and you just have to deal with it. He's played enough poker to know that.

His wife is a shrink and after 17 years, he's like this. I don't think that is good advertisement of her ability as a doctor.

I agree with Leno that is an act but still people are going to be scared of the pros anyways. People are scared to play pots with Phil Ivey too but not because he acts like a whiny little bitch. Phil is a great player and people know it they are going to be scared of his no matter how he acts away from the table.

i don't think its an act because i know a few people that completely lack social skills and common sense like him when dealing with people. They act EXACTLY like that and I can't even stand being near them. I'm pretty much 100% sure this is how he actually is and he's not doing it on purpose.

I think you guys are really missing out on the beauty of Phil Hellmuth. Everyone is always just whining about how they hate him, well, doesn't that make you as much of a whiner as him?(Ok, probabaly not, but still). The guy is great, I love watching him, it's hillarious and entertaining to me, and I'm sure ESPN doesn't mind either. Of course the guy knows exactly what he's saying, and he knows if he had 77 he would have called someone elses AQ etc. etc. It's not like he's some moron who has no idea what's going on. And the part that I think is great is that his system is perfect, because people always let him get to them, which is exactly what he wants. Point in case: You got that old pro who was sitting at the table whining about how Phil wouldn't shut up, he obviously didn't want to be sitting there with Phil and is thus uncomfortable. Point 2: When the guy loses that hand with JT where he flops broadway to a runner-runner full house and complains about his bad beat, Phil says "correct me if I'm wrong, but you were an underdog going in", the entire point of this comment is to get this guy pissed off and off his game, which is exactly what happened because not 10 minutes later, this guy is pushing all in for 16k with KJ......the dude is a genius. The one reason I have to not like him is he whores himself out to TV too much, I don't like that....people like Matusow etc., we get it, you're a pro, I believe you.

If I were playing with Phil Hellmuth, I'd respond EVERY time he said or did something. I'm amazed these guys quitely endure this. If he made some stupid comment about some guys bad play, I'd stand up an make a reply. If he stood up in one of his moments, I'd stand up too and say what's your problem BRAT.

He is the quintessential bully. His goal is to intimidate and put little subliminal things in other players minds. It's intetnional, and it's simple to respond. You just show you will not tolerate it. In fact, you escalate it. He starts talking, I start yelling. He starts standing, I walk over near him. He says how he can crush me at the table, I say why wait for the table, let's go outside and bring the cameras any time any where buddy.

I guarantee he'd stop and be off his game fast.

also funny is one guy asked to see his hand once and he said its bad ettiquette. But berating players like he does isn't bad ettiquette? What a fucking hypocrite.
