We were never terribly worried, although the trailer shook pretty hard in a few gusts. What sucks is being thrown back into the 19th Century for three days. Cold showers and no ice. Ugh.
The guys on the East Coast may still be without power. They took a harder hit than we did over here, outside of the small towns south of Naples and the gators in the Glades. Could have, would have been much much worse for them if not for the giant sponge of the Everglades. Eventually, idiots will pave it over and then they'll be sorry, but that's why they're idiots.
Why anyone would move down here now, is beyond me. This cycle isn't going to let up for a long, long time. It was 44 years since the last time this coast was hit by a hurricane. Now, this is the second in as many years. Telling us something? Believe me, having lived through two now in two years, it's NOT something you want to do every year. It's damned scary.
