Stats for a successful limit player

Postby BKAZ » Fri Jan 14, 2005 5:26 pm

Just curious to hear from other limit hold em players what your stats are. There has been alot of work done by Excession concerning poker tracker and the various playing styles and that has been terrific but I'd like to hear from those who focus on limit HE.

Reply with the following (Easy to pull from Poker Tracker)

What Limit
Number of Hands in Sample

% Vol put $ In Pot
% Went To Show Down
% Won at Show Down
% Pre Flop Raise
Aggression Factor
BB per 100 hands

My numbers since 1/1/05

Limit 1/2
Number of Hands in Sample 3300

% Vol put $ In Pot 12.06%
% Went To Show Down 29.83
% Won at Show Down 53.76
% Pre Flop Raise 8.32
Aggression Factor 3.14 (Flop 3.34 / Turn 3.08 / River 2.83)
BB per 100 hands 2.14

Your stats are pretty much in line with mine. I don't see anything anomolous at all just from the numbers.

My stats

Limit 1/2
Number of Hands in Sample 9,537

% Vol put $ In Pot 15.95%
% Went To Show Down 27.10
% Won at Show Down 57.17
% Pre Flop Raise 6.74
Aggression Factor (Flop 3.51 / Turn 3.29 / River 2.67)
BB per 100 hands 2.69

I haven't really played much limit HE since I've been focusing on PLO. Not exactly sure what this shows but I play a few more hands, see less showdowns but win a higher percent of SD's. Make what you want out of this. Hope some of this helps.

BKAZ:

My stats are pretty similar. The biggest difference is that my aggression on the river is lower. Your win at showdown % is pretty good though, so maybe it's not a problem.

IMO, aggression stats should be highest on flop, then turn, river and preflop.

They look pretty good.

5000 hands at Paradise from .5/1 thru 3/6

VPIP 24.5%
PFR 10.4%
WTSD 33.2
W$@SD 52.1
AF 1.87 !!!! This surprised me when I first looked it up...

BB/100 5.03

Notes on my play: I play only one or two tables at a time, and focus more on good table selection, reading players, and playing marginal hands well. Hence my loose stats and lower Agg Factor. (BTW I have been working to raise my AF, it was at 1.79 three weeks ago).

I played ~3000 hands at Party and Paradise without PT and had a similar winrate... my BB/100 seems unsustainable but I have no doubt my style of play is a longterm winner. I am not a 'grinder' like so many online limit players, and I work hard on adjusting to table texture, reads, etc. This is because I prefer live play and these skills are crucial in mid-limit casino games.

Comments on your stats: If you are a good player postflop I think you give up a LOT with a VPIP of only 12%. I'd be interested to hear about your preflop standards. Your other stats look great but 3300 is not a statistically viable sample size. It gives you a pretty good idea but it is not 100% indicative of what is actually going on. (5000 hands in my case isn't enough either.)
