Greatest come back of all time?

Postby Triple B » Tue Nov 15, 2005 3:52 pm

If not the greatest of all time, it certainly is the best I've seen. PS $25+2 Turbo.

We are heads up and we get all in with my A7s vs his pocket 10s. I lose, leaving me 72 chips. My opponent says "gg", and I say right back "not yet". Little did I know how true that was at the time!

Here are the rest of the hands. My chip count before the hand is in brackets. Also keep in mind the blinds are 300/600 with 50 ante and my chip count is before posting blind or ante.

1. (72) A2s in BB vs his 46o. My fullhouse of 5s over As wins.
2. (144) 37s in SB vs his 66. My Qs and 7s beat his Qs and 6s.
3. (288) J5s in BB vs A7o. I pair my 5 to win.
4. (576) A5s in SB vs J8o. My A high holds.
5. (1152) 69o in BB, opponent folds to me.
6. (1502) 76o in SB, I push, called by A2o. I hit trip 7s to win. At this point I comment "this is insane". He replies with the understated "ya" :)

Blinds go up to 400/800 ante 50

7. (3004) K3o in BB, he pushes and I call. He flips over J10o, and my K high holds.
8. (6008) A3s, I raise to 2400, he folds.
9. (6858 and the chip lead). A10o in BB. He calls, I raise to 2400, he calls again. Flop comes 10-3-8 rainbow. I push, he calls and flips over 98o, my tens hold.

I WIN! 9 straight pots: 2 uncontested, 3 as an underdog and 4 as a favorite, but never a huge favorite until the last hand. I couldn't believe it. Definitely the funnest couple minutes of poker I've ever played. I am on the hottest run too...my last 7 $25+2s are 5 1sts, a 2nd and a 3rd. With luck that that, how can you not win? ;)

Hah!

Great story.

Just wait until Poker Karma comes back around and you lose to the guy you managed to whittle down to 50 chips.

Well, I think the poker gods may have spoken already. I decided that I would take a shot at the $55+5 Turbo since I was on a good run.

So I'm sitting there, playing well...build my stack up to about 3000 at the 50/100 level. I decide to get frisky with 97s on the button when it folds to me. I raise to 300, BB calls. I flop my flush...sweet. BB bets out 300...sweet. I raise to 900, he calls...sweet. Turn is a brick...sweet. BB bets out 300 again...sweet. I raise him all in for another 650, he calls...not so sweet. River is the 4th flush card, and guess who was playing his nut flush draw for all his chips? In retrospect I guess I should have moved in on the flop, since once he led out on the turn he had odds to call my allin.

I am now short stacked (about 900), I steal the blinds once, then in the BB pick up JJ. Button min raises (blinds are now 75/150), so I move in. He calls and shows ATs. Ten on the flop, another on the river, gg me.

Poker is silly.

It is not enough to be good at chess, you must also play well.

Somewhere in the world someone is training when you are not. When you race him, he will win.
