Good points Drade. I don't see how a guy (Monk) can retire as the all time leading receiver (number of catches) and NOT get in. Who cares what got done afterward? When he left the game he had more catches than anyone, and the laundry list of QBs should be an added bonus (although it's also a testament to how good Gibbs was, and how good of an O-line that they had).

I think Moss gets a bum rap, just about everyone that plays with him says he is a great locker room guy, teammate and competitor. Off the field stuff notwithstanding, the only on field knock on Moss that I can think of was the game where he took an early exit. 2 seconds should not overshadow a career where, until he got hurt, he was arguably the best player in the game at any position for quite a few years.

I think you can put Chad Johnson in the same boat as Moss, a bit of a deek, but a true gamer. T.O. is an ahole and deserves to sleep in a woodshed with Margot Kidder.

I'm not claiming he was. He's the most selfish player in the league probably. All I'm saying is he's as competitive as anyone else. He plays as hard as he can. I'm not convinced some of the others do.
