Party Poker 2/4 Hold'em (8 handed)

Preflop: Hero is BB with [Qh], [Tc]. MP2 posts a blind of $3.
3 folds, MP2 (poster) checks, 3 folds, Hero checks.

Flop: (3 SB) [Qd], [Jh], [3d] (2 players)
Hero bets, MP2 raises, Hero calls.

Turn: (3.50 BB) [2s] (2 players)
Hero checks, MP2 bets, Hero raises, MP2 folds.

Final Pot: 6.50 BB

Thoughts?

my read:

- raise it pf... the poster could have anything, and you might take it down on the spot (unlikely, but still...). you get the added advantage of having any broadway card being a scare card.

- the flop raise by villain could be a free card raise.

- when you slow down on the turn, villain may think you're weak and try to take it down with middle pair or the flush/str8 draw.

- your CR showed that you meant business, so you got the fold. nihan.

- that being said, i would have bet out on the turn to deny villain the free card (if that's what he was after). if he raises, i probably call and check-call the river (depends on reads).


The fact that this guy was a poster makes your kicker less of an issue, imho.
