QQ with board growing scarier.

Party Poker 2/4 Hold'em (9 handed)

Preflop: Hero is UTG+1 with [Qs], [Qd]. CO posts a blind of $2.
UTG raises, Hero 3-bets, MP1 calls, 6 folds, UTG calls.

Flop: (11.50 SB) [Ac], [7d], [Qc] (3 players)
UTG checks, Hero bets, MP1 calls, UTG calls.

Turn: (7.25 BB) [8c] (3 players)
UTG checks, Hero bets, MP1 calls, UTG calls.

River: (10.25 BB) [3c] (3 players)
UTG checks, Hero checks, MP1 checks.

Final Pot: 10.25 BB

Results in white below:
UTG has Ah Jd (one pair, aces).
Hero has Qs Qd (three of a kind, queens).
MP1 has Ad 2d (one pair, aces).
Outcome: Hero wins 10.25 BB.

Tib, are you also saying bet/fold to a raise on the river here?

I'd have played it the same way as Shamrock. When that 4th club hit on the river I just check it down. Why throw out another bet that probably won't be called by a worse hand and possibly get raised? Seems like you'd be throwing away 1 BB pretty often on that play. I know this is a loose and crazy Party table but still...I don't see the logic in betting that river.

That is a very nice analysis Piers, thanks. I am SO not on that level of thinking yet. Probably why I'm still playing such small stakes! :oops:

Well it is a little easier to analyze sitting in my comfy chair here than it would be in the heat of battle :lol: but this is the kind of thing that will come to you more and more as you gain experience at the table. Just keep plugging away and thinking about hands like this will only make you better.
