AQo misplayed?

Postby MHFlush » Wed Feb 16, 2005 3:46 am

This is a 0,25/0,50 pot-limit hand, what does not matter because I would have played it equal in NL:

I am in early MP, everybody fold to me. I raise the pot with AQo, two caller behind me.

Flop was AKQ rainbow.

I bet the pot, got only one caller.

Turn was 2, completing the rainbow. I bet again the pot, he called again.

River was a 6, I bet again the Pot, set him all-in, he called and won with AKo.

Did I play too aggressive? Did he play bad? I do not knwo.

No you played it correctly in my opinion. If you're going to play AQ there, that's the way to play it. You just ran into the only bigger A out there. It's tough to put him on that when he just calls preflop and doesn't raise the flop or the turn.

Be cautious playing AQ, it's a deadly hand that can lose lots of money.

Talk is cheap...
Anyway, if he had reraised after the flop I think I would have folded my hand.
If I were him I would surely have reraised. Top two pair is something. Therefore, I did not put him on AKo.
