I've been watching my friend play the Party NL 6 man tables and he will reraise w/ AK in any position against a LAG, but if he finds himself against a raise from a solid player, he will call and usually checkraise the flop if he hits his ace or bet when he hits the king. He does mix it up a little, not enough for my tastes though. I think he would do better to play for a smaller pot w/ AK, so mostly call raises, except when he has the button. I don't mind pushing in that spot and isolating against a poor player. Also, AK is a hand that you shoudl try to make all of your important decisions after the flop rather than before because pushing too much money into the pot with ace high should not become a habit in a cash game IMO. I would tend to take on every AK individually and make a decision based on the player you are playing loose or tight, aggressive or passive.
