opinions on some losing hands

Postby crazypony » Wed Mar 22, 2006 10:23 am

thanks to all who have helped me out with your opinions /advise, i havent really posted hands here other than some on a previous thread regarding increasing aggression and playing from the blinds, sinse i have really got a lot out of posting and discussing i thought i would post some losing hands that i have played recently.

Sinse i have really worked hard and being tighter and more aggressive i have found that when i lose a hand i am losing more chips than if i had played the hand my old passive way, however when i win i am winning way bigger pots which definately compensates. this morning on Stars $1/$2 my $50 buy-in when down to $25 after i lost
a few aggressive hands however at the end of the session i was up to $96.00
before i had to leave for work in just a few aggressive winning hands .

here are some losers , how could i have redused my losses, or (reaching here) did i play them as well as i could?

Making a bad call with a good hand at the river is a small mistake, folding the best hand at the river is a disaster.

Ok you added a few more hands,
Hand 3.
pre, flop, turn and river fine. You must raise incase he is on a heart draw or he probably has the Q, so you did well.

Hand 4
Maybe fold preflop, against a weak player go ahead and call, against a TAG toss it.
Flop - a late position raiser might like this flop too, i probably would continue fireing out. But i don't mind calling for a check raise either.
Turn - Ok you check rose, i have no problems with that.
River - CHECK CALL... I can't stress that enough. You are not going to make him fold a better hand. If he is aggresive enough to steal blinds he is aggressive enough to try to steal the pot with a river bluff. Check, let him bluff and call. If you bet he is going to raise with a better hand or fold with a worse!
Making a bad call with a good hand at the river is a small mistake, folding the best hand at the river is a disaster.

"you gain nothing if he is bluffing because he won't call and if he has you beat you are going to get called or reraised which happened."

need to learn to think this way in the heat of battle.
