frustrating

Postby rcb17 » Tue Mar 21, 2006 10:03 pm

I just spent 2 hours in the loosest .10/.25 room I've ever been in on BoDog. And I could get nothing from it.

People were playing the most insane cards out there. I was playing my tight/(trying to become) aggressive game, folding all but AA-JJ, AK-AJ, and playing an occasional low pair and AXs. But folding at least 80% of my hands preflop. I was getting nothing from the dealer.

And still seeing that I folded at least 20 winning hands that I counted. But they woulda won with things like J4o and the like...

Now I don't want to get into bad habits, I'm trying to become a better player so I could graduate to a higher level. But man is that frustrating to see all that money walk on by.

At least I finished 2nd in a SnG so the night wasn't a total waste... :|

How often do others have times like this?

I finished up 1 2/5 bb (or $7 at 5/10) over 17,000 hands or so. Conversely I'm up 5 bb/100 over the past 2500 hands. If you can't deal with folding and not hitting everything I suggest you don't play poker at all because it ain't gonna happen. You can loosen up some if they're that lose, more connectors and suited 1, 2 gappers as long as you play aggressively as you're always getting odds from so many players.

Making a bad call with a good hand at the river is a small mistake, folding the best hand at the river is a disaster.
