what are you goin to do with the profit you made?

Move up to another level?

Or take another shot at the big money sng's?

Well... at this point in my career, moving up a level *is* taking a shot at the big SNGs. So we'll see. I'm trying to develop a pretty good gameplan before I take a prolonged "shot". I might try the 400s, as the play there is significantly worse than the 1000s.

Anyway, I think you guys are a little off track on the big stacks. Those guys are very good at playing the short stack, and the "load up a new one" scheme doesn't work at the 1000s... there's usually only one table playing and one waiting for players at any given time. My guess is that high stakes players seem to be alot tighter when they are not the aggressor, and that they pay much more attention to pot odds. That means that while an 800 chip all in with 50/100 blinds will be called pretty rarely, a 650 chip all in with 100/200 blinds will be called most of the time because the big blind only has to call 450 to win about 1000. Small stakes players pay almost zero attention to pot odds, and high stakes players have learned to adapt some usage of pot odds into their overalll strategy.

yes... the idea of big stack play referred to $200 SnGs at Party, so those fire up fairly quickly. I can see how it is different at the $1000 level.

FWIW, I wasn't discounting the fact that some players push with pot odds. I was just trying to imply that some of these players don't view a $1000 SnG as a one-off "big chance to hit it big", so they are willing to push relatively small edges for their tournament life.

i could be completely off here.... i don't play these games, and my information is just based on reading about the thinking of those who do. the logic sems sound, though.

anyway, congrats on cashing, nash.
