Bodog now gives you more starting chips

Postby SebQtaneus » Fri Nov 18, 2005 1:20 pm

I got this email today. They've up the time of each round as well. I haven't tried the S&G's yet to see if it applies to them as well though.

Bodog.com Poker Deals Players a Strong Hand With New Tournament Structure

Bodog.com has upped the ante with its latest online poker offering.

With its enhanced version of the online poker tournament, Bodog.com Poker is giving even more value to its players. Along with $1.8 million in guaranteed winnings each month, tournament players will be dealt a substantially larger starting chip stack and more time between blind levels.

Where starting chip stacks are typically around 1,000 chips, Bodog.com players will now start with stacks ranging from 1,200 to 2,500 chips. The time between blind levels will be increased from 12 to 15 minutes for some tournaments. What does this mean to the Bodog.com poker player?

A larger starting chip stack and longer intervals between blind levels will afford players the gift of time – a valued luxury in the fast-paced game of online poker where the amount of hands dealt within one sitting is comparable to a day’s worth at a land-based casíno.

Bodog.com players – both novices and seasoned pros – will be able to spend more time testing the waters and “reading” their opponents. Also, with a “deeper” chip stack, players will have the opportunity to play more hands. Ultimately, this means better play and more of it.

“We are continuously looking for ways to enhance our product offerings, while adding more value for our players,” says Calvin Ayre, Founder and CE

O of Bodog.com. “This enhancement will undoubtedly change the way online poker tournaments are played, and ultimately make for a better end-user experience for Bodog.com players – an extremely important metric of how we measure a product’s performance.”

This is awesome. I have done well in Bodog MTTs and SnGs but left awhile ago because I got tired of dealing with the all-in fests they always become because of the blind structure. If this translates as well to SnGs, I'll deposit again immediately.

Alas, not for the SnGs. Only for MTTs.
