M9Man, everyone will tell you the same thing. There's really no difference in play up to $30+3. That's true. For the most part, you run into many of the same players, or same type of players. What you'll find as you go up is you'll run into a few more good players.

I can be assured of making the money most every time at the $5. Right now, I've won my last 6 out of 8. On PokerStars, I'm a perfect 3 for 3. Won, not placed in the money, but absolutely won. Once I get to 4 or 5, I'm gonna take it, unless I run into some really bad luck. I'm not bragging, I promise. It's the level of competition. I simply don't find any of the other players at this level can out play me. Heads up, it's simply over, because I have a lot more experience at this than most who are just happy to make the money.
But, at the $10+1, I find one. Now I may or may not win, but can still feel fairly confident of making the money, as long as I can identify him, and he can identify me. Whether we both make it, or try to ensure our success by taking each other on earlier, is another question. (And a pretty good one, too.)
At the $20+2, there may be 2 or 3 of us. Now success isn't so easy. Not only do I have to negotiate the minefield of bad players over their heads, but I've got to identify the other sharks and stay completely out of their way. Above this level, it gets even harder.
So, yes, they aren't much different on the surface, but no one can say if you will be as successful as you go up. It depends on how good YOU are, not how good THEY are. I hope this is a more complete explanation for you, as long as you can not hate the way I explained it.
(Guys, forgive me if I sound like a complete asshole. My wife says I have a way of sounding like it, even if I don't mean it. I know I sound full of myself, but I'm on a roll and due for a fall.)
