10 Game Reort using modified NashVegas Beginners System

Postby ChipMagnet » Thu Sep 01, 2005 4:43 am

I know ten games does not qualify for statistical purposes, but I have good numbers and I get to give at least one good report on my SnG play at $5 + .50 on UltimateBet :D

Made a couple of modifications to the system:
Stage one last unto the blinds are 50/100 (about 40 - 55 hands)
Play pocket pairs 88 and above in sb in unraised pot.
Play pocket pairs 88 and above in cutoff and on button in unraised pot.
Vary raises when down to three people and heads Up

Total Amount Won $95.00
Total Amount Wagered $55.00
Net Profit/Loss $40.00
ITM % 60%
ROI % 73%

1st - Twice
2nd - Once
3rd - Three
4th - Once
5th - Three

I have only had two games where there were more than 6 players left at the 50/100 level which is the end of stage one for me.

One game there was only three players left at the 20/40 level.

One game there was nine players left at 50/100. I wanted to open up sooner because everyone was playing so tight but needed to see how the system would work in that situation, finished second.

Unfortunately this success can not hold up, I have only been out drawn after the flop once and have only put my chips in the center with the worst hand twice and out drew my opponent one of thoses times.

I fully recomend this system to anyone new to No Limit or SnG. For those who have a little understanding of No Limit concepts and SnG concepts, it is like having on handcuffs (that keep you out of trouble), but like you said, this is for beginners.

When you say you made a couple modifications are these the modifications or the complete set of rules. Is this a second post to a previous post you had discussed your strategy. Just want to ensure I have you full strategy. Also what is "cutoff" is that a late position? You have no details as to when you raised pre or what amount you raised. Do you only play pockets? no AK no AQ until after the 50/100 rounds?

The system is explained in the following thread. "How to guarentee a positive ROI at $10+1 Party SNGs" Sorry but I don't how to link it.

The modifications I mentioned are based on the explanation that NashVegas gave in the thread.

Nash explained that the system is designed for beginners. I first followed the system to the letter and it worked very well. It provides a consistent opportunity to get you in the money (ITM).

I added the modification because I have been playing No Limit for a little while and figured these added hands would not get me in any trouble and could prove profitable with the right flop. I have been reading and studying on short handed play and changed my play to be more in line with what I was learning. I think this gives me a better chance to finish first.

Please read the above mentioned thread, depending on your experience level you could find it very profitable.
