4-handed TPWK against tight big-stack

Postby EscapePlan9 » Tue Dec 13, 2005 2:27 pm

I have to do this from memory since PokerRoom and PT are not compatible with tournies.

blinds 75/150
UTG: 4000
BTN (me): 3200
SB (villain): 7000
BB: 2000

I raise to 3x BB with A7o. The tight SB min-raises and I call.

The flop comes A96 and he checks to me. I throw out a 2/3 pot bet incase he has TT-KK and wants to chase. He calls.

The turn is a Q and he slightly overbets the pot to put me all-in. I think for a while and fold.

I couldn't think of any hand I beat there. QQ just hit, if he had AX he probably had a better kicker, and the only OESD he could be bluffing would be JT which is an unlikely min-raise from tighty. I folded because of that - and because he probably recognized I hit the flop and was nearly pot-committed anyway.

I like my fold. Would anyone call here?
