A2 hits TP against LAGtard in SB

Postby EscapePlan9 » Fri Sep 22, 2006 1:07 pm

SB was a bit of a LAGtard (48/12 with 2+ aggression)

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t200 (4 handed) from (Format: Bet The Pot)

SB (t3386)
Hero (t2885)
UTG (t5539)
Button (t1690)

Preflop: Hero is BB with [2s], [Ah].
2 folds, SB completes, Hero checks.

Flop: (t375) [3h], [Jd], [Ad] (2 players)
SB bets t200, Hero calls t200.

Turn: (t775) [4s] (2 players)
SB bets t400, Hero calls t400.

River: (t1575) [7c] (2 players)
SB bets t800, Hero calls t800.

Final Pot: t3175

I wanted to keep the pot small and we're on the bubble, so I didn't raise anywhere. And here I had a blind battle against a LAGtard - I'll let him do all the betting. He's likely drawing to less than 5 outs, so I'm not worried about more cards coming.

Look at the situation again... SB is a LAGtard who only open-completed. He could do this with a BIG variety of hands. On the flop, if he doesn't have an Ace, he'll fold to a raise. But he'll bet many hands we beat on at least one more street. There are no overcards that can come, so like I said, it's extremely likely he's drawing to 5 or fewer outs. Why scare him off that draw? This is a pretty simple WA/WB situation to me. And on the bubble.

Poker is silly.

It is not enough to be good at chess, you must also play well.

Somewhere in the world someone is training when you are not. When you race him, he will win.
