Home Game Strategy Question

Postby laakrules » Tue Dec 20, 2005 1:47 pm

Hello again. Love this place. Here is my latest question. Home game usually full table of ten. Get 1500 in chips. Blinds go up every 15 minutes. Start out 25/50, 50/100,100/200,200/400...,max out at 500/1000. With these agressive blinds how do you think I should adjust my play. I wanted to use Nash method but don't know if that would be the way to go. With blinds that fast would be better for me to try to pick up some pots early?? Again thanks for any input.

The strategy should work very well, actually. I started playing a home game last week which has a similar structure, 2000 in starting chips. 8 players, one is very good, one an avg player, and the rest are calling stations and donkeys. Be cool for the first couple of orbits and watch what and how people are playing. Chances are most of them are not even as good as the worst $5 PP player. You should find that you are one of the best at the table.

The very cool thing about playing online is the experience you gain. You play a huge number of hands, far more than most live players ever play in their lives. It gives a very nice edge.
