Party Poker Mini Steps

Postby teknipper » Fri Nov 04, 2005 8:00 am

I have started to play the mini steps at party because of the possible big payouts at the end of the rainbow and the good entertainment value for the buck.

What are some of the strategies for playing in the party quick blind structures? Here are a couple of specific questions, but other advice is appreciated.

1) Should I limp in with marginal holdings hoping to hit a flop in the early going of the tourney? EX: 56s from 1st position.

2) Should I limp in on the button with several people in the pot with virtually any two cards. The reason that I think this is correct is because I saw several people get paid off with junk hand by people with marginal hands. Ex: 2 pair winning against TPWeakKicker).

3) When we got to heads up, we were even with 4000 each and the blinds were 250/500. 1/8 of my stack is in the middle before I see the cards. Do you move in with any Ace and any pair?

4) I won and move up into the second step. Should I play more $5 tourneys and work on the strategies and get used to the blinds or should I just plow ahead into the next level. Normally, I play cash games (omaha 8 pl) and only rarely play in Holdem tourneys.

Thanks,
Tom
