45 Person SnG - Final table hand

Postby RuiCosta » Mon Oct 23, 2006 4:50 pm

I had got to the final table in decent shape, and being a turbo tournament the blinds are massive. I had taken 2 bad beats to be left in the ridiculous position of only having 2BB.

Fortunately the bubble had only just burst so I was in the cash. I had planned to go All in whatever the hand before this to try and buy the blinds - but I was dealt 73o and decided to wait and see if the BB was any better - it wasn't.

So should I fold this? or call?

My two lines are thought are...a double up now will leave me in decent shape.
If I fold, with the blinds this big a few people could be eliminated and I might edge up the money by default.

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t2000 (7 handed) from (Format: Bet The Pot)

Button (t6265)
SB (t9450)
Hero (t3745)
UTG (t5325)
MP1 (t3950)
MP2 (t19423)
CO (t19342)

Preflop: Hero is BB with [7h], [2d].
UTG raises to t5225, 5 folds, Hero ???

top 6 get paid?

Ahhh...I don't know...as far as like pot odds and shit go...this is probably a must call. You're most likely 40%...and you'll just have to get lucky...

even if you wait a hand...you won't even have enough to call the blind...and unless you pick up like AA, KK , QQ....you'll most likely only be 60-40 or 50-50.

So...I think you're supposed to call regardless.

This could be your best chance of doubling up. You probably will only win 35% of the time, but you have to consider that here it's guaranteed heads-up. That's better than you can say for the next hand where it could be fought 3-way or more.
