$22 Speed SNG - Fold to this push?

Postby LuparFiend » Mon Apr 24, 2006 9:14 am

$22 Speed SNG at Party.

Villain is big stack with 3295. He accumulated his chips on a suckout a few hands earlier. I was playing a couple other tables, so I really didn't watch this hand since I was not involved. but anyways, he hit 2 pair on flop. His opponent hit his flush on the turn. All the money got in, and villain hit is 4 outer for the full house to double up.

On to this hand. Only 10 hands in at Level 2 (30/60 blinds). I have 1880.
Villain is in MP1 and it is folded to him and he min-bets to 120.
I am in the CO and dealt [As] [Ks]
I raise to 400.
Villain goes all-in (1440 more for me to call into a pot that has 2050 in it)
I call and he shows [Kd] [Kh]

No Ace, and I go home in 9th place. Uggg

Should I have just folded to his push? Raise less PF?
ok play and I am being results orriented?

Thanks

my rule is---(at least when I have chips)

I never, ever CALL all in with AK

pushing is one thing...I hate fukkin calling....

<edit> yeah I limp ALOT with AK early and cold call min raises all the time...early on, to me it's almost like a small pair in a ring game--hit or fold...no hard and fast rules here, but i think you overplayed it in this instance...

No, it doesn't make them both drawing hands. They are drawing to beat your ace-high with the best kicker possible. You likely will not make much more money, unless you can put them on a weak hand or draw and bet them out of the pot (say by re-raising all-in after they weak lead into you). Plenty of morons raise in EP with hands worse than AK.

With all that said, I would have folded to the re-raise all-in, you still have a good amount of chips to last for a while.
