That bahstad won't steal the blinds again..hand help please

Well... Since Bodog sucks some big ass for hand histories... I'll have to make it up from memory...

Blinds 50-100... 8 people still in

There are probably about 3 people w/ 300-500 chips... 2 w/ 1000ish... I have about 1700... 2 w/ larger stacks than me...

Sitting on the button w/ [7d] [7h] ... MP raises to 300... I've seen him raise a buttload of times, and keeps taking it down... He's the big stack on the table, but doubled up through some ridiculous allin where he sucked out like Jenna Jameson on Exstacy...

Not exactly sure what to do when it folds back to me... I figure I have 3 options...

1. I can play it like a little girl, slam my testicles in the car door a couple times, and fold... This may be the best move, but Jesus does it sound weak/tight...
2. The worst option... I think is calling... I mean, there's still like 4 people behind me to act, it's costing me more than 1/6 of my stack, and what flop exactly am I hoping for...??? Unless I hit a 7 or the flop is 456 or something, I'll be crappin a green brick when he comes out firing on the flop...
3. Push... I don't think a raise is even an option, as I'll be pot committed no matter what... I've seen him steal a couple times, and I'm pretty sure that, even if he calls, there's a halfway decent chance he's got a weak Ace for one over... Possibly even a smaller pair...

So... what's your play...

AND... As a bonus gift... How would you play it differently, if at all, if you had AK-AJ instead of the PP...

I am not so familiar with the SnG strategies, and perhaps i should have read all posts here, before i answer, but i ll give it a try as a newbie to this.

First , i voted for a call, 4 people behind you, give you some implied odds. If there is a re-raise or the flop doesnt improve your hand fold, you still have 1400 and enough time to build your stack up.

I think a PP in LP is a value to play in a STT.
So after a while i came to the result ALL-IN is the best play.
Go ALL-IN ! Because the players behind you didnt raise the pot, they will not call 1700 with a marginal hand. Your read on the bigstack MP player is , that he is a thief. Let him pay for his try.

Regarding your bonus question with A-K to A-J i call, no raise.

please dont make meat-balls out of me, i am still learning, to become a solid opponent for all of you....

For thoes who dont know me I am a newb, I will nonetheless try and give my opinion but beware this is not gospel...

I think I would take the painfull option 1, 1700 is a fair stack with 8 players, irrelevantly of the blinds level, however you are not the top dog and cant really push ppl around too much, why would you risk it all against the big stack ? I dont understand... If the guy is just loose and lucky, dont worry someone will fix him up and if none does you will when it gets to 3 players.
7-7 in a 8 players game is really not strong, to win with it you will need help I would not risk the whole stack and hope ppl will fold.

The call is just a waste of chips, you are not in the pot odd and still far from the implied pot odds

Just a newb opinion

Does your opponent seem smart-LAG or stupid-LAG?? Smart LAGs know that they are killing the game just by raising preflop, and they will not be prone to get into a big confrontation unless they have some serious goods. Stupid LAGs will generally call out of pride if they have much of a hand at all.

Raise the smart LAG, fold to the stupid LAG. Remember that blinds might wake up with a hand every once in a while too, you are NOT heads up.

If you can't tell one way or another, I suggest raising all-in. There are so many people left, you probably need to double up to make the money, so you are justified in taking a riskier plan than normal.

I'd call if I felt their wouldnt be any raises behind me. Otherwise fold. I dont mess with the big stack unless
1. I have an equal size stack
2. I have a premium hand
3. I'm the short stack

If he's playing loose as you suggest then chances are he's going to take out a some of the short stacks and double you up when youre in a better spot.

pushing with AK is better than 77 because you are dominated by less hands and dominate more hands that he would call with. Sure its a slight underdog to a pair but he might not call with anything but a good pair and the only ones you REALLY have to worry about is KK and AA. AK also dominated AQ-T and KQ, KJ which are hands he might call with. 77 on the otherside is a slight favorite over a bunch of hands he would call with (strong aces and high cards) and is dominated by other pairs he would call with 88-AA. You are only ever in really good shape against 66-22 which he would likely fold.
