The funny thing about poker is...

Postby halis » Wed Nov 16, 2005 10:46 pm

Pretty much everyone plays perfect poker. Okay, okay well that sounds ridiculous considering some of the hands I've witnessed, but in a sense it's true. Theoretically, everyone plays perfect poker against SOMEONE. I've been thinking about this, and it is true. Think about Gus Hansen. Let's say the board is A 8 2 K T and good old Gus is in there firing a bluff on every street. Now think about some of the internet players you've ran into, calling down this board with pocket 7's. It's easy to see they would crush Gus when he plays like this!

But this kind of radical value calling strategy cannot be correct, but ONLY because Gus will see this and adjust. If only we could all find our PERFECT game to play in, but there is no perfect game. That's why adjusting is so important, any game could be perfect.
