The Limp Reraise

Postby superstusemple » Mon Apr 17, 2006 2:26 pm

Finally moved up to the $10+1s on party! First hand of my first game I bust out to a guy who limp reraised me, Ive never encountered this play in any SNG I've played . Is it a standard play for high PPs? Should I have laid this hand down preflop after the reraise? Don't know what i was thinking on the flop, a voice in the back of my head told me i was beat (what kind of hand would you limp reraise with - AA or KK, maybe QQ - youre beat, lay it down!), but i just didn't listen. Also, should I be making this play with As or Ks? My standard play is just to toss in a 3/4bb raise. I guess for the early levels it could be very effective as a big raise, although narrowing the field, could end up winning you only the blinds, but a limp has the advantage of getting more money into the pot while also giving the option to get aggressive with a reraise if someone has a decent hand.

The limp re-raise is scary.

Honestly...I can't even pin people on hands when they do this. I've seen people do it with like middle PPs, AJ, AQ, AK...or like JJ-AA...

so I usually just call and try to see where I am on the flop...if they are pushin it hard...I just let it go...

That early in the tourney, you should be mucking AQs to a raise... Even MORESO if he limp-reraises...

Definate fold. This is AA too often IMO.
