Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t600 (3 handed)

Hero (t6540)
SB (t7742)
BB (t5718)

Preflop: Hero is Button with [9s], [8s].
Hero raises to t1800, SB calls t1500, 1 fold.

Flop: (t4200) [8h], [3d], [2d] (2 players)
SB bets t600, Hero raises to t1800, SB calls t1200.

Turn: (t7800) [9d] (2 players)
SB checks, Hero calls [t2940] , SB calls t2940.

River: (t10740) [4d] (2 players)

Final Pot: t10740

My reasoning is I am getting pushed about and blinded down, I am on the button so I make a play here.

I am a bit worried he has a big over pair but once I make two pair I decide it is very unlikely he has ithe flush and I push.

Now obviously I am a favorite at every stage in the hand, even pre-flop, and he gets lucky, but I am more worried about my play here, I am trying to score more wins at tournies instead of 2nd and 3rds I get via hanging on.

SB has [6h] [6d] ( 9 high flush )

I like the raise pre-flop, especially if you've been getting pushed around and haven't been pushing back much, they'd probably give you respect for a hand here and need something to call from the blinds with. On the flop i'd just push it all in after his raise, after you raise to 1800 you've put a little more than half your stack in and there's no way you're really folding, plus you're giving him 3:1 odds to call with any draw. As it turns out he was a donk but he'd probably have folded his 66 to a push on the flop.

Yeah, that is how I feel pretty much as well.

I didn't want to push the flop becasue I was scared of an over-pair, but then if I am going to re-raise half my stack against a guy who has been calling a LOT I should probably just push and put the presure on him with his under pair.

He was a total moron to call me on the flop and turn, but I'm pretty happy with the hand over all, I was ahead on all rounds and got my chips in when he was only like 22% to beat me.

Even preflop it is 50/50% with SC over cards I believe.

I think I might make similar plays again, but push on the flop next time :)
